Edward Abelew - President
Mr. Abelew is a parent, businessman, and community leader. He founded IMPAC, a marketing consulting firm, in 1984 and has served recognizable clients including Ciby Geigy, Lucent Technologies, Nabisco Foods, Kraft Foods North America and Celgene, a leading bio tech pharmaceutical, as well as small B2B companies. He also is Chair of the Cultural Arts Committee of Hanover Township and has held previous Board positions in the Hanover Wind Symphony, Chatham Community Band and Temple Adath Shalom. He has also been a member of numerous corporate steering committees. He is an active participant as Committee Chair for several Rose House organizational and functional initiatives. His business and marketing acumen has proved invaluable to the Board of Trustees and to The Rose House organization.
Andrew Botwin - Trustee
Andy founded and manages Strategy People Culture, LLC, a business dedicated to fostering better awareness for people and business. Strategy People Culture offers Workplace Culture consulting, Executive Coaching and Independent workplace investigations. Andy began his career as an auditor with Arthur Anderson where he gained exposure to large publicly traded companies such as Aramark, Universal Health Services and Levitz Furniture. Andy has worked for a top 10 national staffing and payroll agency where he gained experience in recruiting, payroll, and risk management. Most recently, Andy was the Chief Human Resources Officer for the 15th largest accounting firm in the nation. Andy was a Principal and human resources leader for another top 25 national accounting firm prior to being sold to one of the Big 4 accounting firms. Andy was a key driver in implementing a business strategy for this firm to achieve recognition on Fortune Magazine’s exclusive Best Companies to Work For in America. Andy has a degree in Accounting from Villanova University, a MBA in Human Resource Management from Fairleigh Dickinson University, a JD from Rutgers School of Law – Newark, and a graduate certificate in Executive Coaching from the University of Texas. Andy is a certified coach through the International Coaching Federation (ICF). Andy is SHRM and HRCI certified and is licensed to practice law in New Jersey and New York. He is also a member of AWI (Association of Workplace Investigators).
Maryann Ford - Secretary / Trustee
Maryann began volunteering for the Rose House in 2011. She began with support for the CFO, Ray Woody. Other areas of involvement are Co-Chair of the Gala Committee; Member of the Board of Trustees; Secretary of the Board of Trustees; and, Finance Committee Chair. She hold a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Pace University and a master’s degree and Sloan Fellowship in management from London Business School. Certifications include Certified Medical Compliance Office from the Practice Management Institute, and Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist from the American Medical Billing Association. Memberships include AMBA, American Medical Billing Association, and HBMA, Healthcare Billing and Management Association. As a qualified business professional, she strives to support clients in maximizing organizational results while focusing on patient care through technology implementation and streamlining processes. Her background was honed during two decades in the corporate arena improving financial results, transaction processing, project management, implementing systems, executing process efficiencies, and developing and documenting policies and procedures.
Tracy A. Higgins - Trustee
Tracy A. Higgins is an EMDR trained Licensed Professional Counselor and Behavior Analyst specializing in sexual trauma and abuse prevention with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD). Ms. Higgins has worked as a therapist at Morris CARES for the past 9 years and is responsible for the development of specialized services for survivors of sexual violence and at risk adolescents and adults with ID/DD. Ms. Higgins is also in private practice in Morristown, NJ. She serves as a consultant to agencies, organizations and schools, providing workshops and training on sexual violence, behavior management, positive communication, relationship and social skills development.
Mark Kramer founded The Rose House in 1999 and served as Executive Director until 2014. He continues to serve on the Board of Trustees. He has a Bachelors in Economics from CCNY and a Masters in Planning from NYU School of Public Administration. Mark and his wife Pearl, also a founding Board member of The Rose House, have two daughters, one of whom is a client in the residential program.
Elizabeth Lehmann - Trustee
Ms. Lehmann served as Director of Social Services for Morris County, where she was responsible for the administration of all state, federal, and local public assistance and social service programs as well as the administration of a 429-bed nursing home and two adult day care centers. She has also served as Northern Regional Supervisor for the NJ Department of Human Services, and has had significant experience in the development of creative solutions and helping contentious factions reach consensus. In addition, she was Executive Director of The New Philharmonic of New Jersey, a professional symphony orchestra.
Ms. Lehmann holds a Master of Public Administration degree, was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and was honored with the Rutgers Graduate Student Government Award for Academic Excellence. She has served as a member of the Boards of Directors for The Morris County Urban League, The Dover Community Clinic, Creative Heartwork, North Jersey Counseling Centers, DAWN Center for Independent Living, Child and Family Resources, and The United Way of Morris County.
Tom Mitchell - Executive Director*
Tom Mitchell started with The Rose House in 2014, and has over 25 years of experience in the social services/healthcare field. He has earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in health care administration and possesses experience that encompasses residential, day and educational services as well as the care of children and adults with developmental disabilities. Tom and his wife Robyn are proud parents of their three sons, Aiden, Austin, and Ashton. He is very active in his community, coaching baseball, football, wrestling and basketball and is a member of the High Point Midget Football Board.

Dr. Edward Yaw- Trustee
Edward J. Yaw it the President Emeritus of County College of Morris, and was President from 1980 to 2016. He has served as Chair of the New Jersey Presidents’ Council and was a member of the New Jersey Commission on Higher Education. Dr. Yaw earned his Ed.D. from Columbia University, his M.S. from Southern Illinois University, and his B.A. degree from Harpur College, SUNY Binghamton.

Dr. Yaw is married to Karen Milne, a professional violinist who currently plays in the orchestra for Phantom of the Opera on Broadway.
