Mr. Abelew is a parent, businessman, and community leader. He founded IMPAC, a marketing consulting firm, in 1984 and has served recognizable clients including Ciby Geigy, Lucent Technologies, Nabisco Foods, Kraft Foods North America and Celgene, a leading bio tech pharmaceutical.  He also is Deputy Chair of the Cultural Arts Committee of Hanover Township and has held previous Board positions in the Hanover Wind Symphony and Temple Adath Shalom and has been a member of numerous corporate steering committees. He has taken leadership roles in Art in the Park for Hanover Township for several years, Committee chair for several fund-raisers to benefit The Rose House, and is Vice President of The Chatham Community Band Board of Trustees. His business and marketing acumen has proved invaluable to the Board of Trustees and to The Rose House organization.

Mr. Kramer is the Founding President of the Board of Trustees. He is President of Laurence Kramer Associates, Ltd., a business and consulting firm. Prior to that he was Administrative Partner with Alexander Grant. Mr. Kramer has served on the Boards of three public companies. His community activities have included serving on the boards of the Queens Child Guidance Center, the Nassau-Suffolk County B’nai B’rith Youth Organization and the Queens County Speech and Hearing Center. Mr. Kramer is the brother of the Executive Director.

Mrs. Kramer is the mother of two children, one of whom is developmentally disabled. She has been a committed and successful advocate for quality special education for the past twenty years. Chief among her many achievements are her appointment by the New Jersey Association for Retarded Citizens to a statewide committee to evaluate educational law, working with the New Jersey Developmental Disabilities Council, and co-founding Focus 21, a non-profit organization that lobbies for legal protection for the developmentally disabled.  Mrs. Kramer is the wife of the Executive Director of The Rose House.

          Our newest Board Member is Ms. Rachelle Winters. Rachelle, who prefers to be called "Shelly", is a certified speech/language pathologist. She received her B.A. from Douglas College, Rutgers University and her M.S. from Teachers College, Columbia University. Her most recent professional positions include the Stepping Stones School in Livingston, NJ and the Center for Communication Advancement, a private office in Dover, NJ. Shelly is married and the mother of three teenage children.

Mr. Kramer began The Rose House in 1999, after selling his business which he ran in Parsippany for more than twenty years. He is father of two girls, including one daughter who is developmentally disabled. Mr. Kramer has a Bachelors Degree in Economics from City College of New York and Masters in Public Administration from New York University. He has served as past President of the Parsippany Lodge of B’nai B’rith, and was a Director of the Morris County Association of Retarded Citizens for six years.
